Hello!
I am a clinical child psychologist specialized in providing evidence-based treatments such as exposure and response prevention (ERP) therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) to children and adolescents with OCD, anxiety, and related conditions. I truly love what I do.
You might be wondering, “Why does this lady like encouraging kids to face fears, or do really hard things?'“ Of course, therapy is often very challenging work, and OCD/anxiety can knock you or your child off course. The good news, and part of what I enjoy so much about this therapy, is that childhood OCD and anxiety are very treatable and this treatment can work when you stick with it. The progress you and your family can make through treatment is what makes it worth the effort.
I approach therapy with a friendly, encouraging demeaner and an overall goal to be an informed, collaborative clinician who will help your family reach their goals.
Outside of this practice, I am a full-time staff psychologist working with youth and families at McLean Hospital’s Child and Adolescent OCD Institute (OCDI Jr.) I also teach undergraduate courses at Harvard University in the Department of Psychology…so in other words, psychology is my lifestyle!
I hope to meet you soon! - Rebecca
